Hi, I’m Rebecca and my goal is to share my knowledge and experience in healthy eating and living naturally to other moms and women out there who want a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their families.
Here’s a little peak at who I am…
I’m a mom
I have 2 beautiful kids, Cadence (7) and Tom (4). Just like any mom, I tend to worry about what my kids are eating since nutrition is very important to good health. One dilemma moms normally face at this stage is that children can be picky eaters and it takes a lot of patience to get them to eat a wide variety of nutritious foods. If you can relate to this and are having trouble getting your child to eat nutritious food, my suggestion is to start by sneaking in healthy ingredients in their normal everyday food. This way, they still get to eat something familiar to them but with a healthy twist!
I’m a blogger
I love to write about anything and everything. I value the opinions and personal experiences of people and I’m thankful that we have the online community as a medium to share our thoughts with each other. I decided to write my own blog about 3 years ago as a way of giving back, so that others can also benefit from the learning I get from my life experiences. After all, experience is the best teacher.
I’m a holistic nutritionist
Dietitian, health coach, nutritionist, diet consultant … we are often called by different names but what really is a holistic nutritionist? By definition, a holistic nutritionist is a trained professional whose principal function is to educate individuals on the benefits and health impact of optimal nutrition. My job is to design personalized diet and lifestyle programs that optimize health for my clients, taking into consideration their emotional and physical health, as well as their energy level and environment. I’ve been in this profession for 10 years and I love every minute of it! Helping others transform their lives into something healthier and better is one of the most rewarding feelings ever.
Why Good Health Naturally?
I wasn’t always a health conscious person. My daily diet back in my College days included fatty hamburgers, late night pizza deliveries, alcohol and diet sodas. I was 60 pounds overweight and I was depressed and felt hopeless. Then one day, a very close friend told me she had just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. At 21 and an Athlete, I never thought it could be possible. It hit me like a rock. Life is too short to waste it living like I did. I had to make a change, and fast. I thought about my parents and how I didn’t want them to see me unhappy and unhealthy. I thought about my future and how I wanted to one day have a family of my own.
I started researching about healthy foods and one by one, I substituted junk with real food. With my “one day at a time” mantra, I slowly began to drop weight. I exchanged soda for water, chips for fruits, and chemical-infused food for whole food. Eventually, I lost 60 pounds and have kept that weight off until this day. I got married and had 2 adorable kids. I now have peace of mind knowing that I can take care of my family because I took care of myself first.
I wrote this blog to show others that healthy food is so much more than just bland salads and tasteless dishes. I never knew that good food can also be delicious and satisfying. There is so much to look forward to in clean eating and I want you to be excited about it! If you aspire for a change in lifestyle like I did, I will help make the transition easier for you by sharing the things I’ve learned from my very own experiences. I hope that my story will inspire you in some way and realize that it’s never too late to change for the better.
